A performance of wealth2023
Inspired on the Voque ‘What’s in my bag” videos, where famous people show their bags and everything that is inside the bag. 
I collected all the objects of 25 video’s and turned them into a dataset. With this dataset I calculated how long a middle class person (in The United States) has to work for this bag. 

The famous people in the videos are doing a performance of wealth, where they advertize materialism, consumerism and capitalism. With this work I wanted to show how ridiculous these videos are. I exaggerated this by printing the receipt of 25 ‘What’s in my bag’ videos out of a ceramic bag.
